Concours

Lincoln Trail Region has not had a judged Concours in recent years, but we do have judged car shows. However another PCA club in our Zone does hosts Concours. Below is a listing of what a Concours encompasses. If you are interested, contact the Chicago Region for details on their next Concours and how you can participate.

Concours d’Elegance is a term denoting a gathering together of automobiles in competition for judging their relative merits in terms of coachwork, design, finish, and appointments.
* Within each group are four "divisions."
* Within divisions are "classes," as many as required, based on the quantity of Parade Concours entries.

WHEELS & WINES 2009
By Jay Yost

The much anticipated 3rd Annual Wheels & Wines Car Show and Concours will return on June 21, 2009. There will be both a static car show and a concours, with trophies for the concours competition. There will also be trophies for judge’s choice, people’s choice and best in show. Registration fees are $25 for the first car and $15 for each additional car. This fee includes awards, a catered lunch for two and an event t-shirt. The lunch alone is worth the price of admission.

Last year, there were about 30 cars present, with Porsches being the dominant marque, but there was a little something for everyone.

As in previous years, Alto Vineyards in Champaign is good enough to let us use their grounds for free.

So, come on out, enjoy a glass of wine, have some lunch and take in the sights of LTR’s premiere car show and concours.

You won’t be disappointed!

As always, I welcome criticism, comments and questions. Please feel free to call me at 217-530-2094 or email me at captainamerica1971@hotmail.com
