2007 Calendar: Discussion regarding the potential for upcoming events.

Christmas Party: It was decided that the Christmas party would be held on December 1st at the Decatur Club, Decatur, Illinois. It was decided to ask Karen Raiha to organize the party again this year.

Driving Events: An autocross site is still needed. Several options were discussed, including the Mitsubishi test track. Lynn Weber agreed to ask Peter Grittner to check on this possibility. It was also decided that a committee would be formed to help plan driving events (autocross, tracking, etc…). The prospect of a Spring Rally and possible Fall Rally or Fall Tour were also discussed. David Kupper agreed to chair the Driving Events Committee. Dana Sawyer and Phillip Longstreth also agreed to serve on this committee.

Concours: The possibility of a concours was discussed. It was agreed that Jay Yost would be contacted to inquire his interest in spearheading a concours committee…more to follow next meeting.

Tech Sessions: Steve Davis agreed to attempt to contact the national tech guy for a possible tech session on the Boxter/Cayman to be held at either Suds or Isringhausen. Details to follow.

Not for Profit: After a lengthy discussion it was determined that filing as a non-profit corporation would not be worth the effort needed just to save money on mailings. It was then proposed that regional dues be researched and possibly implemented in order to offset the cost of mailings. Some discussion also was had regarding people taking their names off of the mailing list in order to receive the Potpourri on-line instead of by snail mail. Further updates to follow the next meeting.

Community Service: A suggestion for adopting a community service organization or project was proposed and greeted with much enthusiasm. Patsy Webber will investigate driver related programs such as MADD or Illinois State Police young drivers programs and report back at the next meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm

Next Meeting: February 21, 2007 at CJs restaurant Bloomington at 6:30 pm
