What a fun way to spend time with other Porsche enthusiasts!! If you are not sure you want to try a Rally click on the link below to find out a Rally is and then look for the time and place for our next Rally! July 26 - Drive to PTO (Porsche to Oxford in Ohio). Hosted by Jim Anderson Porsches2Oxford is billed as a "casual Porsche party" in the picturesqe town of Oxford, Ohio, home of Miami University. I haven't attended in the past, but I hear great things and the event has grown rapidly in just a few years. I believe there were 300 or so Porsches last year and some big name guests. The event is July 26, 2008. Please refer to porsches2oxford.com for event details, advance registration, and lodging information. Unfortunately, hotel rooms are scarce and the host hotel has been sold out for some time. There are several towns nearby that may offer a lodging alternative. Cincinnatti is close as well. Southern Indiana and southwestern Ohio offer some of the best driving roads in the country and I've been anxious to explore there for sometime. I plan to take all day Friday as a driving day and will probably head south from Crawfordsville IN and then through Bloomington and scenic Brown County. An alternative would be to take I74 through Indianapolis and then on to Rushville, Connersville, down 121 and over to Oxford. Just a bit farther south is stretch of 262 that Car and Driver magazine called one of the 10 best driving roads in the US. We'll define the route further as the date approaches and I welcome any input. The festivities apparently start at the "Elms" Holiday Inn bar in Oxford on Friday afternoon. The show is Saturday and there is a rally Sunday am for those inclined. Please let me know if you are interested in forming a caravan to leave from Danville IL early Friday morning. My email is jim.anderson@oldnational.com Sept 20-21 - Grand River Drive. Hosted by Mike and Shelley
Matthews. We plan on starting in Moline and driving along the Mississippi
River on the Grand River Drive. We will meeting Friday evening in Moline
and take off Saturday morning and start the drive down the river. More
info as we get it planned. This may change because of the Furrow Winery
car show... |
