We've just completed our final route reconnaissance and are thrilled to announce three distinct driving routes through the Jim Edgar/Panther Creek Wildlife Area. Each route offers:
Distance: Approximately 25 miles
Duration: About 35 minutes of pure driving enjoyment
Format: Individual route cards (not follow-the-leader style)
Scenery: Stunning wildlife area views and engaging country roads

Updated Timeline
9:30-10:00 AM: Arrive at New Salem State Historical Site main parking lot
10:00 AM: Coffee, pastries, and general instructions
10:15 AM: Transition drive to route starting point (Newmansville Ave & County Road
10:30 AM: Reset odometers and begin your chosen route
11:30 AM: Complete routes and transition back to Petersburg
Noon: Lunch at Hand of Fate Brew Pub

Isringhausen Cars and Coffee

Please join us on June 13th for Cars and Coffee at Isringhausen Imports. Isringhausen is sponsoring this event, and coffee and baked goods will be available to all members. Although the new Porsche showroom has been constructed, we will be parking in the Volvo parking lot...as we did last year. This is the event where we handout Lincoln Trail Swag, so be there to join the fun.

Complimentary coffee and baked goods will be provided to all members attending the event.

The 2026 Hemmings Great Race – Springfield, IL

Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026, Time: 8:00 AM – Noon

Meeting Location: Resource One, 321 East Adams, Springfield, IL


Complimentary coffee, donuts, and free parking will be available prior to the event.
The 2026 Hemmings Great Race, scheduled for June 20–28, 2026, is a prestigious nine-day antique car rally covering over 2,300 miles. This event will officially traverse the entirety of Route 66, from Illinois to California, in celebration of the route’s centennial. The race will feature between 120 and 130 vintage automobiles, beginning in Springfield, Illinois, and concluding in Pasadena, California.

Event Highlights:
Route: Known as the "Mother Road," the course extends from Illinois to California. Duration: June 20, 2026 – June 28, 2026. Scheduled Stops: The rally will include stops in 17 cities along Route 66 across various states. Finish Line: The event concludes on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in front of Pasadena City Hall, California. Course Details: Although the event generally follows Route 66, detailed daily routes are kept confidential until each race day to ensure fairness among participants.

Lincoln Trail Visits: Olsen Motorsports and Napleton Westmont Porsche

Date: Saturday, July 24 -25

Meeting Location: Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort


Event Overview The Lincoln Trail Region is organizing a special trip to the Western suburbs on July 24th and 25th. This event includes exclusive visits to two renowned automotive facilities, Olsen Motorsports and Napleton Westmont Porsche.
Accommodation and Dinner Attendees will be staying at the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort, located at 3500 Midwest Road, Oakbrook, IL 60523. Rooms have been blocked at a price of $159.00 plus tax.
On the evening of July 24th, dinner is scheduled for Wildfire in Oakbrook at 6:00 PM. This restaurant is outstanding, the Oakbrook Hills Resort is fabulous, and the area has great shopping. The Resort also has a massive parking lot, to protect our cars from damage.
Guided Automotive Tours On Saturday, July 25th, participants are invited to take part in guided tours of Olsen Motorsports and Napleton Westmont Porsche.

Olsen Motorsports The group will assemble at Olsen Motorsports, 2300 Wisconsin Avenue, Downers Grove, at 8:45 AM for coffee and doughnuts. The tour will run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Olsen Motorsports is a premier restoration, modification, and maintenance facility capable of everything from routine oil changes to building custom dream cars. Two technical specialists from Olsen will escort attendees through the facility and provide detailed explanations of their services and operations.

Napleton Westmont Porsche Following the tour at Olsen Motorsports, the group will proceed to Napleton Westmont Porsche for a special behind-the-scenes experience. Further details about the schedule and activities at Napleton Westmont Porsche will be shared with participants during the event. After the Napleton tour, we are free to have lunch, indulge in more auto experiences as this section of Ogden Avenue houses several exotic auto dealers (Aston Martin, Lamborghini, BMW, Maserati, etc. After the tour you can go shopping, and head out on your own suburban adventure or return home.

The term “World Class” is overworn, but this is an opportunity to visit in depth two truly World Class auto shops.

Every TUDOR watch is carefully assembled and fully tested to meet the brand’s rigorous standards. The assembly and testing take place at TUDOR’s watch Manufacture, which is in Le Locle, Switzerland.

Dinner and RSVP Information
After the main event, attendees are invited to cross the street and enjoy dinner at Ancho and Agave Each member is resonsible for the cost of their own dinner. Please be sure to RSVP, as space for this event is limited.
